Archipelago

These small formats evoke landscapes without ever seeking to represent a specific place. A horizon line, a few reliefs, a body of water, a light or a mist are enough to reveal a territory, while leaving its contours and its history deliberately open.

The choice not to represent these landscapes in an overly figurative way allows for a wider field of possibilities. Each person can then project their own imagination onto them, recognize a familiar atmosphere, a place they once knew, or reconnect with a memory of their own.

Thus, the same painting can evoke very different landscapes and stories depending on the viewer, sometimes bringing back a place, an emotion, or a memory one thought was forgotten.
