On the edge of a dream

These small formats evoke landscapes without ever seeking to represent a specific place. A horizon line, a few topographical features, a body of water, a light or a mist are enough to make a territory appear, while leaving its contours and its history intentionally open.

The choice not to represent these landscapes in an overly figurative way opens up a field of possibilities. Everyone can then project their own imagination onto them, recognize a familiar atmosphere, a place they once knew, or reconnect with a memory that belongs to them.

Thus, the same painting can evoke very different landscapes and stories depending on the viewer, sometimes bringing back to the surface a place, an emotion, or a memory that one thought was forgotten.
