Beyond

In this almost abstract landscape, the horizon line appears amidst a succession of blacks, grays, and diffused light. The material, granular and irregular, evokes the texture of vintage black and white film photographs, like an image that time has gradually altered.

Au-delà thus carries something of a memory. A landscape glimpsed once, of which only an impression remains—a few contrasts, a light, a line in the distance. The shapes are sensed rather than defined, leaving each person the possibility of reconstructing what is missing.

And then there is that horizon, that visible boundary beyond which the gaze cannot travel. The image stops, but the imagination continues its path beyond, toward what is no longer visible, what one remembers… or what one invents.
