Uyuni

• Description

"Uyuni" was born from the memory of a very real place: the Uyuni Salt Flat in Bolivia, and that unique island where the silhouettes of cacti stand amidst the vastness.

Usually, my landscapes gradually drift away from reality to allow more room for sensations and imagination. Here, this memory was so strong, so magical, that the place imposed itself almost naturally into the painting. The cacti appeared, recognizable, and I chose to let this figurative element take its place.

In a palette of grayish blues and mineral tones, the texture captures something of the vastness and strangeness of this extraordinary landscape.

A piece like the trace of a journey and a moment of wonder that has remained intact.

Fine Art reproduction of the original painting "Uyuni" by Cécile Trousse.
